ISLAMABAD: In a case of controversy over election results, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered reelection in National Assembly constituency, NA-19, in Haripur city of Punjab,
The seat was won by PTI’s Raja Amir Zaman in May 2013 general elections with 116,949 votes. His victory was challenged by PML-N candidate Umar Ayub Khan who claimed rigging in some polling stations, getting 114807 votes.
After re-polling in seven polling stations, Ayub won the seat in 2014. But Zaman did not give up and challenged his rival’s victory in Supreme Court.
However, a final date for election has not been issued by three-member SC bench that was headed by Justice Jawad S.Khawaja
